Next e-POWER Auction
The next auction will be held on 1st February 2011. Information on the renewable electricity to be auctioned will be available to registered suppliers from 12th January 2011.

In our auctions, generators using the service have the option to agree a reserve price for their electricity.

e-POWER AUCTION results - 15 JULY 2010

The latest on-line auction of green electricity was completed on, 15th July 2010.

A total of 242 projects representing some 667 MW of capacity were auctioned. These were mainly NFFO and SRO projects but also included projects being auctioned directly on behalf of generators.

The auction began on Tuesday 13th July and contracts were finally awarded to a total of seven successful bidders, including several niche green suppliers.

The contracts are for electricity to be produced between 1st October 2010 until 31st March 2011.

The average price, at 9.58 p/kWh, represented an average for ROC inclusive projects of 9.95p/kWh and 4.73 p/kWh for those technologies which do not receive ROCs. The overall average price for winter 2009 was 9.10p/kWh. Therefore the winter 2010 prices are 0.48p/kWh or 5.3% higher than the same period last year.

legislation
From 1 April 2007, a generator will not need to have a Sale and Buy-back agreement with a supplier in order to receive ROCs for electricity he generates and consumes on site. This change will benefit those generators who wish to sell ROCs using e-ROC auctions.

For the period: 1st April 2010 to 31 March 2011, the Buy-Out Price per ROCs will be £36.99. Under the Renewables Obligation, electricity suppliers must source at least part of their electricity from renewables generators. In England & Wales and Scotland, the level for 2010-11 is 11.1 ROCs per 100MWh; in Northern Ireland, the level is set at 4.27 ROCs per 100MWh.
