ROC Prices to fall in CP9?
• NFPAS e-ROC auctions sold almost half a million ROCs in CP8 with the
last auction in June selling 250,000 ROCs the largest quantity of ROCs
sold since 2006 and the second largest auction since NFPAS began ROC
auctions eight years ago.
• In CP9 even more ROCs are forecasted to be issued with a possible
resulting effect on ROC prices. According to independent analysts Cornwall Energy
CP9 ROC values could be 5%-10% lower than CP8 as significant new capacity
comes on line, especially offshore wind. They also think 2009-10 ROC values
were boosted by a colder-than-average winter that pushed up demand (and thus
the level of the RO) and reduced production from wind and hydro stations.
• In these difficult market circumstances, it is more important than ever
to ensure that you are selling your ROCs in the most efficient and effective
way possible. You can rest assured that through the e-ROC auction you will
get the best market price on the day and will be able to access the whole
of the electricity market with both large and small suppliers finding the
auction platform an important source for purchasing ROCS to meet their obligation.

electricty suppliers is 10.4% and the Buy-Out Price per MWh is £36.99.

Sale & Buy-Back Agreements
From 1st April 2007, a generator will not need to have a Sale & Buy-back agreement with a supplier in order to receive ROCs for electricity he generates and
consumes on site. This change will benefit those generators who wish to sell ROCs using e-ROC auctions.
